Tanner stopped over to visit Duncan today. I think these boys are going to have some fun together.

Wip feeding the donkey a waffle

Playing with Grams

Reading books

Ahoy!
Grams came to visit and we took the boys to ArtSparks at the Speed Art Museum.  We had the place to ourselves and it was so much fun.

Be Our Guest

Thursday, January 26, 2012

This week we had a visitor from Jiujiang, China stay with us. Shelly was one of the three adult chaperons that came with seven students from Louisville's sister city. She was so kind and LOVED the boys.  Thank goodness babies are universal.  While it was stressful, I am so glad we decided to welcome Shelly into our home.

Just a singin'

Lyrics:

I have a little turtle
His name is Tiny Tim
I put him in the bathtub
To see if he can swim

He drank up all the water (suuuurrrp)
He ate up all the soap (mmmmmm)

And now he's sick in bed
With bubbles in his throat (brrrr)

My Little Mimic

Monday, January 16, 2012

When Wip shows me something he has worked on I typically say "oh I looove it!". Today we were playing with playdough (check out his snake).  After I finished making an alligator, Wip exclaimed "OOOH I LOVE IT". Like mother like son.

Wip Lost a Tooth!

Or so I thought. We went to the dentist this morning and everything went great. When we got home I was taking Wip's jacket off and found a white chip (looking very similar to a tooth) embedded in the sleeve. I freaked. I started screaming "a tooth, a tooth, they must have brushed his teeth too hard!". After trying to get to Wip to see if he was ok, Patrick informed me that Wip had a candy cane yesterday and it must be that.  The taste test confirmed that it was indeed a candy cane.

Sunday Funday

Sunday, January 15, 2012

Hip Hop Class has started and while I was sad that Ms. Allison did not play Notorious BIG, Wip had a blast.

Long Week

Friday, January 13, 2012

After a long week of Wip's teacher telling us "he uses the marker on his friend's faces instead of the paper", bad days at work, and worrying about Uncle Chet the one thing that can put a smile on my face are these little munchkins.  Watching Lion King with popcorn while Wip tells me what the baboon says ("he's ALIVE") makes for a perfect Friday afternoon.

Lollisicle

Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Ever since Wip was a baby he has loved Wynn (she is like his Winnie Cooper).  When we drive by her house he has to point it out and when he sees her on walks his eyes light up. Wip associates popsicles with Wynn. I always have a stash for her in the summer. I told Wip that when it gets warmer outside we will have Molly and Wynn over for popsicles.  Somehow he confused popsicles and lollipops because everyday he now asks "is Wynn coming over for a lollisicle?", love that kid.

Happy Birthday Israel!

Sunday, January 8, 2012

Anytime you ask Wip who he played with at school the first name that comes out is Isssssrael.  We went to Israel's 3rd birthday party at Kazoing and had a blast. I finally got to see all of Wip's friends in action.  Jaaaack, Dagney, Casper, were all there and the children could not have had more fun together.

Mommy vs Wip

Saturday, January 7, 2012

This is where I found Wip after he refused to take a nap at his Mimi and Granddaddy's house.  I shot myself in the foot because it was a beautiful afternoon and we were supposed to meet Aunt Fe Fe and Preston at the park. After the he got out of his bed for the 4th time, I told him that if he got out of bed again that we would not go to the park.  He cried and said he wanted to go to the park with Preston yet 5 minutes later he was out of his bed.  Therefore, I shot myself in the foot because as much as I wanted him to run around I had to stick to my guns.  Parenting is not easy!

You would have thought a little zzz might have helped with our day. It did not. When he woke up from his nap he asked if he could have a tortilla chip.  I asked him where his manners went and he replied "I not have manners, I being bad." At least he is honest.

First came love...

Wednesday, January 4, 2012

Before the break I walked in to pick up Duncan from daycare and he was holding hands with a sweet little girl about his age. It must be love. After two weeks of not seeing each other, when I picked him up today they were playing footsie. Ms. Chris said that she lights up when he comes around.  That is one smart little girl to know a good thing when she sees it.
